Throughout the Bible and LDS Book of Mormon, the Lamb is used for the purpose of sacrifice and is a symbol of the Savior who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Latter Day Saints know that the Saints of God are called lambs from the Bible, "So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs." (John 21:15)
